A ground-breaking local weather change researcher hopes her work on ice sheets and sea-level rise will encourage extra younger folks, particularly ladies and women, to enter environmental sciences.
Tavi Murray, professor of glaciology within the School of Science and Engineering at Swansea College has been made a CBE within the New Yr’s Honours record.
Prof Murray, whose work spans the fields of physics, geography and pc science, was recognised for her analysis into the contribution from glaciers and ice sheets to international sea-level rise.
She is head of the Swansea Glaciological Group, which, amongst different issues, focuses on the forces driving the speedy and dramatic adjustments which are at the moment being recorded within the Earth’s glaciers.
Prof Murray can also be an advocate for partaking with the general public and coverage makers on local weather change points, a spokesman for Swansea College mentioned.
